1. Delete your account from the app (recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the Outzone app:
- open the Outzone app and sign in to your account;
- go to Settings;
- select Delete account;
- confirm when prompted.
You do not need to reinstall the app to request deletion. Once confirmed, deletion immediately starts removing your data as described in section 3.
2. Delete your account without the app
If you cannot access the app or your account, you can request deletion by writing to us:
- Email: info@outzone.app
- Subject:
Cancellazione account(Account deletion) - From the email address or phone number registered to your account, stating the username or the email/phone associated with it.
To protect your account, we verify your identity before proceeding: we may ask you to confirm the request from the email address or phone number linked to the account. This step prevents anyone from deleting your account without authorisation.
After verification, we handle the request within the timeframe set out in section 4.
3. What is deleted and what we retain
3.1 Data we delete
When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise (tombstone) the personal data that identifies you, including:
- profile data: username, first and last name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender, profile picture, bio, country, language and settings;
- login and session data: password (encrypted), session tokens and links to social logins (Google/Apple) — all sessions are revoked;
- social graph: friendships, follows, followed organisations and blocks;
- content and activity: posts, comments, reactions, tags, event reviews, RSVPs, and saved or hidden events and posts;
- purchase reports you have filed (the free-text note, which may contain your personal data, is removed).
3.2 Data we are required to retain, and why
For legal obligations and security, we cannot delete certain records even after your account is closed. We retain, only as strictly necessary:
- financial and ticketing records (sales, tickets, refunds, disputes and chargebacks): required by Swiss accounting and tax obligations (Code of Obligations, ~10 years) and for fraud prevention and defence against complaints;
- proof of consent to our Privacy Policy (accountability);
- the deletion audit log (a record showing that and when the account was deleted, with no identifying data);
- an immutable sale snapshot, kept as evidence in case of a dispute: by design it contains no buyer personal data (only a technical identifier).
These records are decoupled from your identity wherever possible and kept only for the purposes above and for the period required by law. For more detail on retention and legal bases, see our Privacy Policy.
4. Timeframe
We start deletion immediately after confirmation (in-app) or identity verification (by email), and complete removal of the deletable data normally within 30 days. Records we are legally required to retain (section 3.2) are kept for the applicable retention period and then deleted.
5. Other options
- Delete only some data: if you want to remove specific content (e.g. individual posts or comments) without closing your account, you can do so directly in the app or write to us at info@outzone.app.
- Other data rights: you also have the right to access your data, rectify it, restrict its processing, object to certain processing and request its portability. How to exercise these rights is described in the Privacy Policy.
